For People with a partner from another country / race ...

A little over two years ago, I was very busy with the relocation of Dian. In the Netherlands you need to go through quite some paperwork to get a visa for emigration to the Netherlands. Well, there was not a lot of information to find in those days, so one dat (October 17, 2003) I set up a forum where thinkalike people could find eachother and share personal experiences.

Stichting Mixed-Couples Now today that community grew out to a major portal full with information about Dutch Immigration Law, procedures and above all it became a "hanging place" for Mixed-Couples before and after the procedures. Often there are meetings and soon there will be also lectures and other information gatherings.

Oh yeah, MC became already a real foundation, just to make sure it will still exist when the founding member gets into a situation where he couldn't handle it anymore.

My first snowman

It was just one month ago, my backyard was full of snow. I remember waking up in the morning and ran down the stairs, grabbed my jacket and my shoes and went out, playing in the snow with my cute cat Nina. Yes, she enjoyed the snow as well, she even catched the snowball I threw at her..hah..such a funny cat.

It wasn't my first snowy day, but it was the first time the pile of snow was up higher above my knee...I built my own snowman without any help whatsoever, Kris was too lazy to help me (yeah, he wasn't fascinated about the snow). It wasn't as easy as I thought before, building a snowman is a hard work (applaud for the kids who built the giant snowman), But hey..I was proud of myself..it was my first time and I made it!!!!!!

Finally...

Giraf?Everyone who knows me, knows I'm never sick.
This time flu struck me on Eastern while we were away for a weekend.
Last minute we decided to go somewhere and luckily, I found a nice last minute in a castle hotel in Belgium, near the lake of Genval.
Usually that hotel (5 stars) is very expensive with rates of € 450,- per night. We got the package (3 days, 2 nights) for € 199,-.

But anyway, that weekend I felt already weak. Sunday night, when we came home, I felt feverish. Monday (still a day off) I slept a lot on the couch, ate some aspirines ...

Tuesdays I called in sick, slept a lot that day, and when I was awake sat a bit behind the computer reading mail, reading news on the internet, checking voicemai to see if I shouldn't inform some collegues there were urgent matters.

Wednesday I went to the doctor, I needed some antibiotics.
He adviced me to rest the rest of the week, which I did, on the couch or behind the computer screen ( yes I know... :-) )

Friday I felt a lot better and any way had to do some shopping... we were running out of food and Sunday we got friends over and Dian wanted some special Asian stuff to make some Indonesian disch.

But Finally, I'm better and this means I don't need any flu anymore for the next 3 years (yes my average is 1 flu per 3 years).
