24 August 06 - 11:49Bilingual

Kris and I plan to raise our kid(s) bilingual. We belief that bilingual gives so many advantages to the child's development and furthermore in his/her old days later.

I have heard so many positive stories about bilingual kids. A cousin of mine has done a research in bilingual kids (she has a psychology degree), and the research showed that the intellegence level of the bilingual kids are significantly higher that those of monolingual kids. I cannot provide you her research here, since it is all in hard copy :-). And also I once watched a program on TV aout one of the politicians in Netherlands, she raises her young boy bilingual. She said there is a research shown that billingual people tend to have dementia/alzheimer later than monolingual people. It is believed that has something to do with how the brain works for bilingual people (they use their brain way earlier than us, monolinguals!).

15 August 06 - 07:42Disembunyiin

04 August 06 - 21:11Halfway! (not a half baby)

HALFWAY

By the 20th week of pregnancy, the uterus can be felt at the level of your bellybutton (umbilicus). It began rising into the abdominal cavity soon after the beginning of the 12th week, when the baby and uterus were outgrowing the pelvic cavity as a comfortable abiding place. As a result, the pelvic colon and small intestines are crowded upward and backward. The ascending and descending colon, because of their close attachments to the back of the abdominal wall, maintain their usual positions. more here
